Hearing Aids
“After 20 years of hearing loss, this was the first time I felt truly understood.”
Chris
My name is Chris Cooper, and I’ve been living with hearing loss for over 20 years. It started suddenly, and since then, I’ve been through the NHS and several private practitioners trying to find the right support.
While I did receive help along the way, I never really felt fully satisfied, either with the level of service or with how much the hearing aids actually improved things for me.
It was a friend who recommended Alresford Hearing Studio, and from my very first meeting with Sam, I could tell this was going to be different.

The whole experience felt more relaxed and personal from the outset. Our initial appointment wasn’t rushed or transactional, it felt like a genuine fact-finding conversation. Of course, we started with an audiogram to understand the degree of my hearing loss, but what stood out was everything that came after.
Sam took the time to really understand me, where I struggled, which environments I found most challenging, and what I actually needed day to day. That’s when I realised this wasn’t just about buying a hearing aid. It was the beginning of an ongoing relationship.
With hearing loss, things aren’t static. You go through life encountering different situations, new environments, new conversations, new challenges. And what makes the biggest difference is knowing you can come back, talk things through, and have small adjustments made that genuinely improve your experience. Sometimes it’s just a fine-tuning of a frequency, but it can completely change how well you hear in a specific situation.
That level of ongoing care is something I hadn’t experienced before.
For me, that’s what sets Alresford Hearing Studio apart. It’s not just about the technology—it’s about the support, the understanding, and the long-term commitment to helping you hear better in the real world.
I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to anyone looking for a more personal, effective approach to hearing care.
